VR-Based Geometry Learning Application (PI, 20M KRW Grant)
Dec 2024 - May 2025A Vision Pro–based spatial reasoning learning tool for elementary education
Project Overview
Developed an immersive Vision Pro application that teaches 3D geometry through interactive cube manipulation, projection-based visualization, and curriculum-aligned problem solving. The project was funded by an independently secured 20M KRW grant, aiming to modernize spatial reasoning education through VR.
Target Users
- Elementary students needing hands-on spatial reasoning practice
- Teachers seeking curriculum-aligned digital tools that extend traditional block-based activities
Implementation
- Built with Unity 6 and visionOS toolkit
- Intuitive hand-tracking for grabbing, snapping, grouping, and rotating cubes
- Projection UI showing top/front/side views
- In-app problem sets sourced from elementary textbooks
Evaluation
Conducted user studies with education practitioners.
- Strong usability ratings for cube interaction, projection UI, and problem-solving flow
- Users highlighted high educational value and alignment with AIDT digital textbook initiatives
Outcome
A validated, immersive VR system that enhances spatial reasoning and provides a scalable, classroom-ready alternative to traditional stacking-cube activities.
